The manufacturing module
Bills of materials, work orders and the real cost of every batch.
Write down what a product is made of once. PrimoERP plans the materials, runs the work order and costs what you made from what it really used, on the same stock and books.

Does the production floor look like this?
be honestThe recipe lives in one person’s head.
Or on a sheet taped to the wall. When it changes, half the floor is still making the old one.
You find out you’re short on the day.
A work order starts, and a component that should have been ordered last week isn’t there.
Nobody knows what a batch really cost.
Prices come from an old estimate, because the cost of what was used is buried in purchase bills.
One batch, from materials to unit cost.
An illustration: 500 tins of paint, costed from the stock the work order drew.
- Base, 400 litres at 60issued from stock at its value
- 24,000
- Pigment, 20 kg at 350
- 7,000
- Tins and lids, 500 at 8
- 4,000
- Labels, 500 at 2
- 1,000
- Materials in the batchmoved from raw material to work in progress
- 36,000
- Material cost per tin, 500 tins

Nobody works this out after the batch. It is the total of what the work order really used.
An illustration with round numbers and no currency, materials only. Each material is valued the way you value your stock: FIFO, weighted average or standard cost.
Everything production needs, on the same books.
Manufacturing questions people ask us.
What does the manufacturing module do?
It keeps your bills of materials, plans the materials you need and runs work orders from issue to finished stock. It shares stock and books with the rest of PrimoERP, so every batch is costed from what it really used.
What is MRP?
Material requirements planning: working out which materials you need, how many and by when, from what you plan to make and what is already in stock. Not the maximum retail price printed on a pack.
Are labour and overhead part of a batch’s cost?
Materials are costed from stock, at the value your stock carries. [Confirm how labour and overhead are added to a work order’s cost.]
Can I track batches of raw material?
Yes. Materials can carry batch, lot or serial numbers and expiry dates from the day they are received, and you can choose to block expired stock from being issued.
Is this the same as ERP for manufacturing?
This module is the production part: bills of materials, planning and work orders. ERP for manufacturing is the whole setup for a factory, with purchase, stock, sales and accounts ready to use.
Our recipes are in spreadsheets. Can you move them?
Yes. We bring in your items, bills of materials and opening stock, then check the first work orders with you before you go live.
How long does it take to set up?
[Typical go-live time, to confirm.] Setup, data migration and training come as an onboarding package with a published price, and we sit with you in go-live week.
