What you are paying for.
An ERP is one system for accounts, sales, purchase, stock and often payroll. Its cost comes in several parts, and vendors put different parts in the headline price.
Before you compare two prices, check which of these each one covers.
- The licence or subscription: a monthly or yearly fee, or a one-time licence for desktop software.
- Users: included in the plan, or charged one by one.
- Setup, also called implementation: configuring your company, taxes, numbering and approvals.
- Data migration: bringing in customers, suppliers, items and opening balances from Tally, BUSY or Excel.
- Training for each team, before and after go-live.
- Support and renewals: yearly renewal or service fees for desktop software, support plans for some cloud systems.
- Add-ons: extra GSTINs, branches, companies, payroll, POS counters or industry features.
- Hosting, for software you run on your own server or on a hosting plan.
Per user, per business or per PC.
Per-user pricing multiplies with your team. Say a system costs ₹1,000 a user a month: 3 users is ₹3,000, 10 users is ₹10,000, and a minimum number of users can apply.
Per-business pricing, also called per-organisation pricing, is one price for the company, with a set number of users included. You pay for more only when you pass that number.
Desktop software such as Tally and BUSY is priced per licence, for one PC or several on the office network, often with a yearly renewal for updates. Open-source ERP has no licence fee, and you pay for hosting and for the people who set it up.
None of these models is cheaper for everyone. Work out the price for your own number of users today and in two years.
Published prices, checked today.
These are list prices from each vendor’s own pricing page, in alphabetical order. They are a month and before GST unless the vendor says otherwise. Prices change, so each one shows the day we read it.
A list price is the starting point. Your quote depends on users, add-ons and setup.

Setup, migration and training.
Setup is the part of an ERP budget that is easiest to miss. Many vendors leave it out of the plan price, and partners quote it separately.
Ask who does the work, how many hours or weeks it takes, and whether moving your data and training your team are in that price.
PrimoERP publishes its onboarding packages: Self-serve is free, Quick Start is ₹9,999 once (free with an annual Business plan), Guided Go-Live is ₹39,999, and Enterprise onboarding starts at ₹1,50,000. All before GST.
Odoo’s plans do not include implementation services or access to Odoo’s expert services.

A first year, added up.
An illustration, not a quote. A trading business with one GSTIN and one warehouse: five people use the system, and 20 employees are paid through it. It uses PrimoERP’s published prices, because those are the only ones we can add up end to end.
The Starter plan fits: 3 users included, 1 GSTIN, 2 warehouses and 6,000 invoices a year. Do the same sum with each quote you receive.
Illustrative first-year cost on PrimoERP Starter, billed annually, before GST
| What it pays for | First year |
|---|---|
| Starter plan, 3 users included: ₹1,499 × 12 months | ₹17,988 |
| 2 more users: ₹449 × 2 × 12 months | ₹10,776 |
| HR and payroll, up to 25 employees: ₹999 × 12 months | ₹11,988 |
| Quick Start setup, once: masters, opening balances, GST, training | ₹9,999 |
| Total for the first year, before GST | ₹50,751 |
When you can spend less.
An ERP is worth paying for when sales, stock, purchase and payroll need to work on one set of books. If they don’t yet, something smaller may do.
- You only need accounting and GST: cloud accounting such as Zoho Books costs less, and its Free plan may cost nothing.
- You work on one PC in one office: a desktop licence such as Tally or BUSY can cost less over several years.
- You only need one app: Odoo’s one-app plan is free.
- You have developers and time: ERPNext has no licence fee, and you pay for hosting and your own effort.
What to ask for in a quote.
Ask every vendor for the same things, in writing, so you can compare totals rather than starting prices.
- The total for the first year and for the second, with GST shown separately.
- How many users are included, the price of each extra user, and any minimum.
- Exactly which modules are included: accounting, sales, purchase, stock, payroll, POS.
- GST, e-invoicing and TDS: included, or an add-on.
- Setup: who does it, in how many hours or weeks, and at what price.
- Data migration from your current software, and who checks the opening balances.
- Training: how many sessions, for which teams.
- Support: how you reach people, in which hours, and whether it costs extra.
- Limits on invoices, transactions, companies, GSTINs and warehouses.
- What the price will be at renewal, and how you take your data with you if you leave.
ERP cost questions, answered.
How much does ERP software cost in India?
Published cloud prices run from a few hundred rupees a month to several thousand rupees a user a month, before GST; the table above has each vendor’s figure and source. Setup, data migration and training often cost extra, so compare first-year totals.
What is the cost of an ERP system for a small business in India?
It depends on your users, modules and setup. Our worked example, five users with payroll and a setup package on PrimoERP Starter, comes to ₹50,751 for the first year, before GST. Use the list of quote questions above to get the same total from each vendor.
Is there free ERP software?
Some vendors publish free options: Odoo’s one-app plan, the Zoho Books Free plan for small revenue, and ERPNext, which is open source. You still pay for hosting, setup or your own time, and the free plans have limits.
Is per-user or per-business pricing cheaper?
Per-user pricing is often cheaper for one or two users and grows with every person you add. Per-business pricing includes a set number of users, so it is easier to predict as the team grows. Work out both for your team today and in two years.
How much does ERP implementation cost?
Many vendors don’t publish it, and partners quote it separately. PrimoERP publishes its onboarding packages, from a free self-serve option to Guided Go-Live, so the setup price is known before you start.
Do ERP prices include GST?
Usually not. Most vendors publish prices before GST and add it to the invoice, as PrimoERP does. Check each quote.
